About Me
This is my 4th year teaching here at Webling Elementary School. I was a 1st Grade teacher for 3 years. I completed my Bachelors in Education at University of Hawaii at Manoa. Although I enjoyed working with 1st Grade students, I am excited to embark on this new journey working with 6th graders.
Growing up, I have always liked being in a classroom. It is in learning where I found most of my successes and strengths. As a teacher, I hope to empower my students and to become a part of their life-long journey of learning. I believe in importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment for students to learn. Through experience, I learned that getting to know your students (inside and outside the classroom), setting clear expectations, and enforcing classroom rules are best in creating a positive relationship with my students while maintaining a positive learning environment. Students perform better when they feel safe, cared for, and valued in the classroom.
Outside of the classroom you can find me at the beach, shell hunting or paddle boarding. My husband and I also enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures.
